Child Initiative International seeks to give the tools needed to empower the powerless to change their lives and communities.

LOCAL WORK

Over the years, Child Initiative International (CII) has supported thousands of children and families across America. Many families find us through word of mouth or our website, reaching out for help to obtain essentials such as beds, furniture, clothing, and toys to transform their houses into homes.

In 2010, CII helped a family acquire four new beds, bedding, a kitchen set, and, through our Santa Cop program, ensured they had a joyful Christmas.

In the Northern Illinois region, CII has partnered with local companies to provide school supplies, backpacks, and books to schools and community organizations. We have donated over 500 books to schools in the Rockford, Illinois area to support their libraries.

CII collaborates with various local organizations to assist children and families living in shelters or difficult circumstances through programs like Santa Cop. This initiative provides children with winter coats, toys, and clothing, while families receive a complete Christmas dinner with all the trimmings.

No child should wake up on Christmas morning feeling forgotten. Each year on Christmas Eve, our Santa Cop teams deliver food, gifts, Christmas trees, and ornaments to children in need. Through this program alone, we assist up to 1,250 children annually.

Help CII make a difference.

Santa Cop is a local program that CII holds every year during Christmas for local families with not only toys but a meal, Christmas tree, and more. Help us help our community!

THERE ARE A FEW WAYS TO HELP.

1. You can sponsor a child and/or family, and do the shopping needed on your own! Contact us below about sponsoring a child or family.

2. Donate $55 to support one child at Christmas. Your contribution provides a toy, a new outfit, a winter coat, shoes, and a full Christmas dinner for their entire family.

Help us remind children that they are never forgotten.

Every child receives at least one toy and one essential item of clothing—often more.

One year, a generous donor family adopted a teenager expecting her first child. They not only met her needs but also ensured the baby had warm clothes and a car seat for the trip home from the hospital. It’s not about how much we give, but the care and love behind each gift that Child Initiative International strives to provide.

Our mission would be meaningful even if we touched the life of just one child or family, showing them the love that inspires our work year after year. On Christmas Eve, regardless of the weather, we deliver these gifts in person. Our deliveries also include a complete festive dinner for the family, with all the trimmings—" including Christmas cookies, my favorite part!"

UGANDA

  • Child Initiative International is committed to sustainable and lasting support, not temporary relief. We partner with pastors in Uganda to establish schools and orphanages, providing ongoing assistance until these institutions achieve self-sufficiency. Our support includes securing resources to build or acquire safe facilities that protect the children, as well as providing the necessary tools for healthy, fulfilling lives.

We firmly believe that education is the foundation for these children's success. Therefore, we work diligently to supply schools with essential curricula and educational materials. Our mission is to empower children to thrive—not merely to depend on aid—but to grow into capable, contributing members of their communities. Through this approach, we aim to foster stronger, more vibrant towns that benefit not only the children but also future generations.

  • Since May 2006, Child Initiative International (CII) has been supporting Rock of Joy by establishing "Manna House," a home for orphaned children in Kampala. Through this initiative, we have provided essential items such as beds, mattresses, and food to improve the living conditions of these vulnerable children. Drawing inspiration from local resources and practices, we introduced cleaner and more sanitary cooking methods, enhancing their daily lives.

Currently, CII supports hundreds of orphans who, due to the devastation caused by war and HIV/AIDS, lack parental care and guardianship. Many of these children have been found on the streets scavenging for food, have made their way independently to the orphanage, or were left by dying parents with no means to be cared for. Our dedicated pastors have embraced these children, raising them as their own family.

At present, Child Initiative International is committed to supporting six schools and three orphanages in Uganda, continuing our mission to empower vulnerable children and provide them with nurturing environments where they can thrive.

  • Over the past years, Child Initiative International (CII) has collaborated with several organizations to provide essential resources for the children we serve. Partners such as Feed My Starving Children, the United Nations, and Uganda’s Ministry of Relief have played key roles in supporting these efforts. Through their assistance, communities have been able to establish their own gardens and purchase chickens, ensuring our children receive nutritious food to support healthy growth and combat malnutrition.

In addition, we have helped acquire land to start a farm, which not only supplies food for the children in the orphanages and schools but also generates income from selling surplus produce, promoting greater self-sufficiency. Access to clean water has also improved significantly, thanks to well drilling projects that provide safe drinking water. Despite these advancements, we continue to pursue new opportunities to supply parasite-free water and improve overall health outcomes for the children under our care.

  • Child Initiative International (CII) believes that every child deserves the opportunity to receive a quality education—an opportunity to learn the skills and knowledge necessary to pursue their dreams. Each year, CII provides new school supplies to the six schools we currently support, ensuring that students have the tools they need to succeed.

With Uganda recently adopting a formal curriculum, CII continues to supply essential literature in reading, writing, and arithmetic to support teachers and enhance student learning. In addition, we have donated books to help establish libraries within these schools, fostering a love for reading and expanding educational resources beyond the classroom.

While the formal curriculum forms the foundation, the schools also enrich education by incorporating local culture and history, helping students stay connected to their roots. As children grow, vocational training is provided to equip them with practical skills for future employment.

Education plays a vital role in the lives of these children. We firmly believe that by providing access to quality education, we empower them with confidence and pride, enabling them to grow into active, contributing members of their communities. Although their current world may be limited to their school and orphanage, education offers the pathway to overcome adversity and create a positive impact for themselves and others.

  • Last year CII decided to share a gift with our schools in Uganda.

Solar-powered audio bibles are great for kids that can't yet read and are efficient without needing a traditional charging station. Each audio bible comes in one language, CII is looking to buy multiple languages, as some kids and families do not speak English. Each audio bible costs $95.

Please consider sponsoring an audio bible. You can leave a message with your donation and specify you would like it to be used for the audio bibles.

KENYA

  • For the past three to four years, Child Initiative International has partnered with Bishop Patrick at Princedom School. We have maintained a long-standing relationship with Bishop Patrick through our extensive connections in Uganda. This partnership has enabled us to support the school’s growth and provide essential resources for the children’s education and well-being.

  • The school encountered difficulties in fulfilling a local mandate to provide lunch for every child. Following the effects of COVID-19, increasing food prices created significant obstacles in maintaining meal provision for students. Child Initiative International stepped in to support the school by supplying necessary food items and covering the costs of lunch, ensuring that children continue to receive the nourishment they need for their education and well-being.

  • Additionally, we have fully funded the school fees for ten orphans, providing them with the opportunity to receive a quality education and build a brighter future.

ZAMBIA

  • Pastor Moses reached out to us, and after a thorough vetting process, we began supporting the children at Welfare Concern School. As of July 2024, Welfare Concern School has become our newest location, where we are committed to providing the necessary resources for the children’s education and overall well-being.

  • Child Initiative International has been supporting the school by providing essential school supplies, ensuring that every child has the necessary tools for effective learning and academic success.

  • CII has also provided tables, chairs, blankets, and a variety of other essential supplies to support the children’s daily needs and improve their learning environment.
