2026 Second Quarter

I am overjoyed to bring this news to the members and supporters of CII. We have a DOCTOR! Doctor Ezra Kimbowa is now officially the doctor for CII. His job will be to handle the day-to-day medical needs and if necessary, refer the child for a trip to the hospital. This is a huge step for CII. We also would like to begin to stock common medications allowed by law for Doctor Kimbowa to have available for immediate use. That would include medication for malaria among other common illnesses. I cannot begin to explain how excited I am about this and how important this is for CII. We will need to raise additional funds for the medications but, this is going to be a huge step in fighting illness at the CII locations. Dr. Kimbowa will be in charge of telling the CII board what is needed and we will need to find a fair way to compensate him for his work. When considering compensation, we must think in terms of Ugandan costs rather than Stateside costs, where expenses are much higher. This is a beginning and while I expect initial influx of funding to be needed, I do not expect it to be over the top expensive and let's keep in mind, we will now have a fully staffed clinic for the children. You cannot put a price on that. The clinic itself may be the beginning of something bigger and better. Let’s give it a shot and see what the Lord does with it. It will not be advantageous to bring items purchased here on the trip with us. The cost of the items Dr. Ezra will need can be purchased less expensive in Uganda.

One thing CII does not highlight much is, what we do for kids locally and across the States. We actually have done quite a bit. We have done everything from paying for a round of chemotherapy to sending pallets of relief to hurricane victims and providing pallets of multiple-sized diapers to a pregnancy care center among other things. We have also provided more winter coats, shoes, food and toys to local kids and even kids as far away as Missouri and Texas. We just do not talk as much about it because locally there is too great a chance that the kids we help will be recognized and the families embarrassed. That is not why CII is here. We never want to embarrass any family but, this time, because the kids are out of state, I will talk about what CII has done. Two kids in need in the Atlanta area required beds. If anyone has priced beds lately, you would know that the days of an inexpensive bed are long past. However, CII was able to provide two beds for two kids being reunited with their dad in a new place to live together as a family. It was an urgent situation and Amazon, became a great partner in getting the job done. 

This is the kind of thing CII does when the need arises, but we usually do not discuss it. We feel the anonymity of the children helps prevent embarrassment and safeguards the kids.
