Mityana, Uganda
On this page you will see a work that is indescribable. A pastor and his wife building a school and orphanage from the
land with their hands and no money. Such a desire to serve God and to see the children of the area have a chance at a
future and education, I have never seen before. The two story building made completely of tree branches serves as a
school for orphans and some of the other children of the area around Pr. Daniel and Anette’s Mityana location.
All but ten of the children are orphans. Some have been abandoned by single mothers who could not feed or care for the
kids. Knowing Daniel and Anette would care for them, the mothers essentially have left the children on the door step.
The brick school is something Daniel had been working on for over a year when I first saw it in May of 2008. It had no roof
and the brick walls were less than six feet high at the time. We left a small amount of money with Daniel which he used
to purchase concrete to finish the walls on a portion of the building. He then sold some crops off the farm at the
orphanage to pay for the tin roofing. When we first met we liked one another right away. This sweet spirited man told me
he had a dream to finish the school by 2015 and give the orphans and other children in the area an opportunity to have
education.
He said “Ok we have no money, but we have land, we can do something!”
I returned in May of 2009 having never forgotten those words, “We can do something!”
CII brought Daniel and Anette 1,100 pounds of top quality concrete mix to finish the brick walls of the school. When he
saw it, he was stunned. Daniel agreed to become our second physical location and we left him with enough money to
finish the exterior of the building. CII is going to help raise this school for the children of the area by the end of 2010
conservatively speaking. With your help, we could do this by the end of 2009.

Daniel and Anette are back in the out back area of Uganda near Mityana and have been doing this work and educating
the children of the area as well as caring for orphans with only faith and the land the Lord has given them. We are the
ones blessed that they would agree to allow us the honor of becoming part of CII. Incidentally, they have two teachers
who are so committed to this work, they teach for room and board only. The girls have a dorm with wood timber beds and
the boys sleep in Daniel and Anette’s home on the floor. With the help of CII this school and these people of faith will be
able to achieve what they have set out to do. With your help we can finish this school equip it, build a boys dormitory with
beds and get beds for the girls dormitory. Faith and your help will make it happen. We are blessed to have them as part
of CII.
